About

Since 1983 the Center has grown from two services to over thirty and has served thousands by assisting them in being independent, staying at home, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Most of the services provided are based on need, not income, with those who can afford to donate helping those who cannot.

Did you know that HCSSC was the first aging provider in the State of Michigan to seek and gain voter approval for a 20 year senior service millage? The opening of our Perennial Park Center has provided a permanent location for seniors and others to meet.

Some of the many services that we provide are shown on the “Programs” link above. Please take some time to see if there is something that may be of interest or need for you.

Our brochure has information about our services. If you would like to receive a free copy, request one at info@hillsdaleseniors.org, 1-800-479-3348 or 517-437-2422.

Staff are available to answer questions and assist you.

The Center is funded by private donations, a senior service millage and program income.

The Center’s programs are partially funded by the Michigan Aging & Adult Services Agency, WellWise Area Agency on Aging, and Hillsdale County Community Foundation.

Our Mission

Hillsdale County Senior Services Center, a private non-profit organization established in 1983, is “Growing to Serve.” The Center is a place where older persons meet to pursue mutual interests, receive services and take part in programs and services which will enhance their dignity, improve their health, support their independence, and encourage their involvement in the community.

Our Vision

The Perennial Park Vision reflects the Center’s goal to improve the quality of life of all Hillsdale County residents. Our vision addresses the needs of rural residents facing a high incidence of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, illiteracy and limited opportunities for life-long learning. Future plans include senior housing, a walking path, pool and gymnasium.
